Meet Recap

As was the case two days ago, the Clarkston boys tennis squad came up just short of victory against a rival from Birmingham. This time, it was the Falcons of Birmingham Groves edging out the Wolves, by the score of 5-4.

#1 Luke Baylis played brilliantly, avenging a loss suffered this summer in dominating 6-1, 6-1 fashion. #3 Jacob Burkett was nearly as good, winning 6-0, 6-3. Neither Luke nor Jacob has lost this season, with the pair owning identical 19-0 records.

#1 doubles Charlie Lussenhop and Jason Richards played their best match of the year, earning much-needed doubles victory. The match was close throughout, but the Wolves played extremely well under pressure in closing out a 6-4, 7-6 victory. Likewise, #5 doubles Brendan Aughe and Ike Yeloushan played their best when it counted, earning a 9-8 victory.

Next week, the Varsity Wolves take their show on the road for matches against League rival Troy Athens and Regional foe Lake Orion.
