Wright’s Walkoff Gives Clarkston Wolves JV Victory Over Waterford Kettering
Clarkston Wolves JV took Monday’s game in dramatic fashion, with a 9-8 walk-off victory over Waterford Kettering. The game was tied at eight with Clarkston Wolves JV batting in the bottom of the eighth when Carson Wright laid down a perfect safety squeeze bunt off of Travis Frazier, driving in the game winning run.
Despite falling down by seven runs in the second inning, Waterford Kettering tried to fight back. Waterford Kettering scored seven runs in the failed comeback on a single by Nate Karnes in the third, a passed ball in the third, a single by Zach Ellis in the sixth, a single by Travis Frazier in the sixth, and a single by Karnes in the sixth.
Clarkston Wolves JV evened things up at eight in the bottom of the sixth inning. Jake Parillo led the inning off with a single and later Josh Luther’s sac fly scored Parillo.
Waterford Kettering scored five runs in the sixth inning. The big inning for Waterford Kettering came thanks to a single by Ellis, a single by Frazier, and a single by Karnes.
Alex Hunt earned the win for Clarkston Wolves JV. He pitched two and a third innings, allowing zero runs, one hit, striking out three, and walking one. Frazier took the loss for Waterford Kettering. He tossed five and a third innings, allowing two runs, seven hits, striking out five, and walking one.
Hunter Gates started the game for Waterford Kettering. He tossed one and two-thirds innings, giving up seven runs, five hits, and striking out one. Brock Henley started the game for Clarkston Wolves JV. He pitched three innings, giving up three runs, four hits, striking out three, and walking zero.
Clarkston Wolves JV collected 12 hits. Brendan Dicker, Jack Anderson each collected multiple hits for Clarkston Wolves JV.
