Avondale High School
Clarkston High School
The Varsity boys continued their scoring output on Tuesday evening when they squared off against Avondale High School. The ball control and scoring started early in the match. Matt Heilman scored a pair of goals in the first five minutes of the match with both assists going to Ethan Wise. Finn Eblenkamp was then able to score with a nice feed from Brady Dickens. Later, Brady Dickens had another nice assist when he passed a hard ball across the face of the goal that struck Kinto and bounced into the net. Kinto is the Wolves newest exchange student roster addition from Japan. The half ended with Wolves leading 4-0.
The second half included a change in goal as Nolan Cook replaced Noah Bridgeman. Avondale was able to capitalize on a couple of defensive missteps and tallied a goal early in the half. The Wolves then continued their dominance and went on a strong attack for the next 25 minutes, scoring 5 goals. The goals were tallied by Matt Heilman, Jacob Bore and Maclain Zaremba (3). Assists accredited on the goals were Brady Dickens, Ethan Wise and Kinto. Two of the goals were unassisted.
The mercy rule was applied with the 9th goal being scored with approximately 14:30 left to play.
Congratulations to Matt Heilman and Maclain Zaremba for both tallying hat tricks on the evening.
The Wolves have the rest of the week off. Their next match is next Tuesday, September 26 at Berkley High School. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 pm.
