Clarkston High School
Stoney Creek High School
The boys varsity team took on Stoney Creek High school Tuesday night. The match started once again on a good foot for Clarkston. The boys were able to consistently force turnovers from Stoney Creek in the opening minutes of the match. Approximately 13 minutes into the match, Brady Dickens was able to convert a free kick from 25 yards out to give the Wolves a 1-0 lead. Unfortunately, the lead was short lived and Stoney Creek answered back with a pair of goals to take a 2-1 lead that they were then able to maintain into halftime.
The Wolves answered back early in the second once again with a nice play that involved Matt Heilman playing a cross into Brady Dickens at the top of the box, Brady was able to settle the ball, turn and fire a shot into the bottom left corner of the goal to tie the match at two. The Courgars of Stoney Creek were able to once again score two more goals after breakdowns occurred to take a 4-2 lead.
The Wolves continued to fight and work, but were only able to manage one more goal in the match when Jacob Bore converted another free kick outside of the box. The match ended with a score of 4-3.
Next up for the Wolves will be cross town rivals Lake Orion. Kickoff for the match is at 7 pm and will be played at Lake Orion High School on October 5.
