Game Recap

JV A put in a dominating performance against my alma mater, the Blackhawks. Scoring in bunches, Captain Austin Hayes scored his first goal of the season and racked up 2 more assists. Jeffery Euceda added an assist and a goal. Fellow captain Justin Spehar had a great header for a goal and an assist. Armando San Juan had an assist and a phenomenal volley finish for a goal. Drew Erskine had a goal and an assist. Christian Euceda, Alex Stuenkel, Nick Merritt, and Kyle Roland all had a goal a piece. Brendan Willis added a first half shut out. It should be noted that in 10 halves of play, Brendan Willis has had 1 goal scored on him. He has a .2 goals against, per game, average, almost unheard of. Congrats Team on a Great Game!

Game Recap

Friday evening soccer was present in Clarkston on a Foggy night. The varsity match was the third match of the night with both the JV-B and JV-A teams also taking on Royal Oak earlier.

Home field has been very good to the Wolves this year and after a tough week with away losses at Stoney Creek and Lake Orion earlier in the week, the boys were happy to be back in the Wolves Den. The scoring was opened about 5 minutes in the match when Luke Quilliams made a great run from the right back position in retrieving a ball that was about to roll out of bounds, dribbling the ball into the corner and then slotting a ball perfectly back to the penalty spot along the ground. Ethan Wise took the perfect pass and placed a one-time shot into the lower left corner. The boys were able to notch a second goal when Brady Dickens passed a bouncing ball to Matt Heilman, Matt was able to slot the ball back into a Lake Orion defender who deflected the ball into the net for the second goal of the match. The wolves continued to control the play and apply pressure on the Royal Oak back line, but the half ended with the Wolves leading 2-0.

The scoring flood gates opened up in a major way in the second half. The wolves were able to score 5 times in the half. Goals were scored by Matt Heilman, Finn Eblenkamp, Maclain Zaremba, Jacob Bore and Parker Daly-Seiler, with assists coming respectively from Brady Dickens, Jacob Bore, Kinto, Maclain Zaremba and Bailey Dula. The wolves were able control possession throughout the half as rain began to fall steadily near the end of the match.

The Wolves head into their final week of the regular season with two home matches. The will take on Brandon High School Tuesday night, and then celebrate their outgoing seniors with senior night on Thursday as the Wolves face Troy Athens. Both matches are scheduled to kick off at 7:00 pm.

Looking forward to the playoffs, Clarkston will face Rochester Adams next Monday evening at home.

Go Wolves!!

Game Recap

The Varsity boys played Lake Orion October 5th in Lake Orion. The match opened with Lake Orion being able to deflect a cross into the box into the far corner in the first couple minutes of the game. The rain started to fall much heavier and was on and off for most of the match. The boys continued to work hard and possessed the ball and created several good scoring opportunities, but couldn’t get an equalizing goal in the first half. The half ended with Lake Orion leading 1-0.

The second half was very similar to the first. Several chances where created, with the best chance coming when Ethan Wise played Matt Heilman in behind the Dragon defense, Matt was able to get off a very strong shot that hit the post and rebounded out.

Unfortunately, all of the pressure was not able to create any goals. The defense was able to hold strong and limit the Lake Orion to just the one goal, but the game ended with Lake Orion winning 1-0.

The boys are now in the final stretch of the regular season with three home games remaining. Hopefully, the previous success experienced at home will carry over and lead into a long playoff run.

Go Wolves!

Game Recap

JV A had a tough loss last night to a hard fighting Royal Oak HS. Halfway through the first half Royal Oak was up 2-0, and our Wolves team fought back hard and Jeffery Euceda scored a goal with about 2 minutes left in the first half to make it 2-1. Then, in the second half several players created several opportunities, but we couldn’t seem to put the ball in the net. It was a tough game to lose, but the boys fought all the way to the end.

Game Recap

It was a hard fought game by our JV A Soccer team. We were controlling the game until about halfway through the first half, when the boys let one Lake Orion opportunity turn into a goal. However, the boys fought back and Cristiano Euceda drew a Penalty kick and Kyle Roland finished off the opportunity by scoring the PK to tie the game at 1-1. Then, there was a lot of back and forth the second half, but it finished in a 1-1 tie.
